Seeds To Baby Plants!

Today is day 4 for our seeds. I noticed yesterday morning that our seeds had sprouted! Gracie has been sick so she slept in yesterday and I couldn't wait for her to wake up so I could show her our baby plants. She was so excited! I didn't get around to taking pictures of them yesterday because I sat at the table studying all day. But today, her they are! Day 4!

You probably get the point now, our plants are growing! And we are so excited! Look at the last picture (above) and at the top right corner there is a really tall seed that sprouted! It's like twice as tall as the others! These are my red and white Zinas. Hopefully they will all turn out to be nice size plants!

Watch it Grow!

Gracie and I did a fun project today. We went to Lowe's before gymnastics this morning and bought the kits to grow your own plants. Since I am a huge flower fan in the spring, I thought this might save a little money in the long run. Plus, Gracie will have fun watching the plants grow. I bought these plastic trays that have one round pellet in each hole. You add water and the pellet expands to dirt. Then you put your seeds in the dirt and then watch them grow over a few weeks. We have 7 trays of all different plants. When the plant grows and we have our last freeze, you are supposed to be able to plant the plants in the dirt outside. Gracie and I are super excited to watch these plants grow! Hopefully I won't have to spend so much money in the spring time on my flower beds.

This is what some of our trays look like. Hopefully they will grow quickly!

Now, if I could only get my 20 loads of laundry folded...Sigh...

Painting Away!

Jimmy and I decided last minute to paint the kitchen and breakfast area this weekend. Or should I say Friday. We went to Lowes Thursday night after Jimmy got off work and bought paint and supplies to begin painting. Jimmy had a doctors appointment in Tulsa Friday morning. So we made a quick trip to Tulsa and then came home and painted all afternoon and evening. I woke up this morning and my legs are so sore! I guess I'm really out of shape! Our next paint project is the master bathroom. I'm thinking chocolate brown.... Maybe we'll do that next weekend.

And finally, the finished product!

Now I'm off to watch the fight!

Pink Eye...

Gracie woke up this morning at 6:00 coughing and freaking out because she couldn't open her eyes. They were matted together. Poor thing! I took her to the doctor today and she has a virus and pink eye! I knew she had something because her eyes were puffy and red yesterday. I got an antibiotic for her so hopefully she will feel better soon! Jimmy and I took her to the park one day last week before it got too cold. I wanted to share some pictures I took of Gracie. She is so stinkin' cute!

Silly Girl!

This morning, I stepped out of the shower to find Gracie looking hilarious! She had picked up a hat off the floor in the closet and put on my black boots. She was waiting for me to get out of the shower and when I did, she died laughing.

She had also decided to weigh herself on the scales. Those boots were pretty heavy!

Project Day!

This morning, Gracie and I put her Valentines bags together. We made 50 bags full of candy and Hannah Montana cards. Yes, I said 50. We made enough for 2 days of school, gymnastics, and dance. Gracie was so excited to make candy bags for her friends. I think she may understand the concept of Valentines Day now. When we first started talking about it, she couldn't understand why we were giving her favorite cards and candy away to her friends and not keeping any for her. We had to explain that she would be getting different candy and cards back from her friends. She helped me stuff the bags and punch holes in the cards. When I was done with one bag, she would go lay it in a pile with the rest. Here are pictures of our lovely bags!

After we finished our bags, Jimmy went on a walk with us around the neighborhood. We took Jack and he had a good time running around. We are teaching him to stay beside us without using a leash. He is doing very well. He's a pretty smart little dog!

It is Official!

Well, it is official! Gracie has said her first "dirty word!" But of course she doesn't have a clue as to what it means. I was up getting her ready for school today. I had dressed her and I was in the kitchen picking up. Gracie was standing at the back windows looking out at the pool. She said, "Momma, it's snowing outside." I said, "no baby it's not snowing." She said, "yes it is, it's snowing." I said, "Gracie it's not snowing anymore." She said, "momma, it's shitty outside." I said, "what?" She said, "it's shitty outside." I said, "it's shady outside?" It wasn't sunny by anymeans this morning so I thought maybe that's what she was referring too. She said, "no, it's shitty outside." By that time I had walked over to her and was really trying to understand what she was saying. I said, "what are you talking about?" She said, "you say it." She was meaning she wanted me to say the word shitty instead of shady so she would know that I knew what she was talking about. Jimmy was still in bed so I brought her in the bedroom and woke him up and told him to listen to her. Of course he was too out of it to listen. She was telling him and then she would laugh a little bit. Then of course I had to be very stern with her. I threatened her of what would happen the next time she said it and of course I told her we don't say that. She had this innocent look on her face. It was one of those times where you just want to die laughing but it's really not funny!

Now I have to admit, the word "shit" may slip from me or Jimmy occasionally. We aren't perfect but we try really, really hard! But..... even if that word does slip, we don't use it in that context. I don't know where she would have heard it to use it in the "ty" context.... She's been out of the house a lot lately without me, so she could have picked it up anywhere...

As for next time... she will not be laughing the next time she says it!

Here is a good picture of the three of us. This was taken at moms house on my birthday weekend.

Snow Day and Hannah Montana!

This weekend has been a really long weekend. We had a little bit of snow for Gracie to play in and then we had beautiful weather! Yesterday we went to the park and then came home and played outside until dinner time! Gracie had so much fun playing with her friends outside! They had all 3 of the battery operated vehicles going. It's seems like forever since they have gotten to ride them! Jimmy has been really sick so he stayed home from work on Friday and Saturday and watched movies in the bed. He's feeling a little better today but is still recovering.

I had bought tickets last week to the new Hannah Montana 3D movie. We took Gracie today at 1 to see the movie. It was pretty cute! Gracie really enjoyed it! Jimmy almost backed out of going because he still isn't feeling his best but I drug him out anyways. I didn't want him to regret not going. Gracie has gotten so into Hannah Montana. She watches her movie constantly and she loves to dance to the song "Best of Both Worlds." Of course in the new movie today, her favorite song was the last one to be played! I guess they always save the best for last! Since it was a 3D movie, they handed out 3D glasses to watch the movie with. I took some pictures during the movie but they turned out a little too dark.

After the movie, Gracie fell asleep in the car on the way home. I dropped her and Jimmy off to take a nap and I ran to the mall. I bought a new Razorback t-shirt and then I went and got a pedicure! My feet and toes look so much better! Now I'm off to a very long and stressful week!
